We just finished an event with over 60+ business attendees. Excellent food and staff. Well stocked bar. Many compliments from attendees. A wonderful place to conduct business in a relaxed, professional environment!
Lovely place to sleep, awful place to eat. The room was clean, spacious, and well appointed with no smell of smoke. There were two light switches in the bathroom but neither turned on a fan, I wasn't sure if it was out of order or simply did not have one. The bed was comfortable and had an attractive headboard. The breakfast, unfortunately, was surprisingly awful. They were only serving the buffet, I'm not sure if this was due to it being a weekend or the hotel being especially full, but for $12 per person it was beyond underwhelming. I could look past the rubbery chunks of egg, dry potatoes, and hard french toast as simply a result of coming down at the wrong part of the morning, but I also found a moldy orange. When I quietly brought this to the attention of a staff member, they rubbed at the grey mold with their thumb, walked past another employee who asked what was wrong and just said it was "dimply", and at no point bothered to examine the rest of the wicker baskets oranges, bananas and apples for signs of decay. Based on that response, I'm never eating there again. As a place to sleep however, it's lovely: 4 stars for the room, 1 star for the breakfast.
All the staff that worked this event, from the front desk to the restaurant to the cleaning crew, were incredibly polite and friendly and helpful and even funny when the situation called for humor. They went above and beyond expectations over and over again, even when they were faced with things they hadn't faced before. I was incredibly impressed. And that's saying a lot! Location is very convenient off the highway and near the river park. The event used both lower floor meeting spaces and upper floor bedrooms and all spaces were well-kept, clean and tidy. Staff was always on hand refilling ice and water and so on and maintained their professional approach no matter WHAT they walked in on. No complaints from me, and I complain about everything ; -)
We went over Christmas, so I'm sure they were on a skeleton staff - but no one came to clean the room (didn't expect this on Christmas, but the day after they also skipped it). The rooms were very nice and we'll outfitted however, breakfast was great, and the staff seemed nice. I think our experience had more to do with the time of our stay and would give it another chance.
Convenient location. Restaurant doesn't open until 5. The bartender Judy was very nice. But there was a convention in town and she was back there by herself. Took 45 minutes to get a drink and order food. Felt bad for her, it was a tough crowd. Big miss by management not being ready and giving her any help.
